1 Day Bass/Miracle Waters Trip

We pick you up from your accommodation establishment. The pick up time will be discussed, depending on where you are staying in the Johannesburg/Pretoria area. We head off to either miracle waters or bass lake. Start our day off with a dive, then have a brunch and then another dive.

This is an excellent opportunity for those who are looking for something to do for the day or for those who haven’t dived in awhile and need a refresher.

If you are wanting to try scuba diving for the first time, this is an excellent way to experience blowing bubbles in a calm, controlled environment.

Bass Lake: 
Bass Lake consists of a 10-hectare body of spring-fed water, situated in Henley On Klip, an hour's drive south of Johannesburg. Depths vary from a walk in slope to 23m at the deepest point. There are training grids at various depths for Scuba Skills training, as well as a number of inland wrecks - a bus and an old diving bell - for more experienced divers. 

Miracle Waters:
This old mine is approximately 37m deep and still rising and the width is 100 X 180 meters. Viz around 15m and this is an old open cast chrome mine surrounded by rugged norite heaps and the water is so clean because it is naturally filtered and replenished by a fountain. In the water you’ll find:

• an old 20 seater aeroplane at 20 meters which was in a crash was supplied by the Airforce Museum, and
• a bus on 14 meters both were placed in the water by commercial divers on the 6th October 2001,
• a computer,
• three, five, six and nine meter training grids
• with permanently fixed hoola hoops for that buoyancy training.

This is a very safe environment to dive in. It is also a bird lovers paradise with braai facilities under shady trees. Airfills can be done at 5 minutes per cylinder. This is an excellent inland dive site.
